วิธีทำ Reading ให้ได้คะแนนเยอะๆ เริ่มจากการรู้ Root Word

การสอบ A Level อังกฤษ โดยเฉพาะพาร์ต Reading มักจะทดสอบคำศัพท์ที่ยากและหลากหลาย
หนึ่งในเทคนิคที่ช่วยให้น้อง ๆ ทำข้อสอบได้ไวขึ้น คือ การจำ Root Word (รากศัพท์) เพราะเมื่อรู้รากศัพท์ จะเดาความหมายของคำศัพท์ใหม่ ๆ ได้ง่ายขึ้น แม้ไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อน

 

ทำไม Root Word สำคัญต่อการทำ Reading

✅ เดาความหมายคำศัพท์ใหม่ ได้แม่นขึ้น → ช่วยทำ Passage ได้ไว
✅ จำศัพท์ได้เป็นกลุ่ม (Word Family) → ลดเวลาอ่านท่องศัพท์

Tip: น้อง ๆ ที่ทำ Reading ได้คะแนนสูง มักไม่ท่องศัพท์เป็นคำ ๆ แต่จำศัพท์เป็น “รากศัพท์ + prefix/suffix” ทำให้จำได้เร็วกว่า

 

เทคนิคการทำข้อสอบ Reading ให้ได้คะแนนเยอะ

1. สแกนรากศัพท์ก่อนอ่าน (Root Scan):
   เมื่อเห็นคำที่ไม่รู้ความหมาย ให้ลองสังเกตว่ามีรากศัพท์อะไร เช่น “bene” = good → beneficial, benevolent → เดาความหมายได้ว่า “เกี่ยวกับสิ่งดี ๆ”
2. ใช้ Prefix/Suffix ช่วยเดา:
   เช่น un- (ไม่), pre- (ก่อน), -less (ไม่มี), -ology (การศึกษา)
   
   
   ตัวอย่าง: unfriendly = ไม่เป็นมิตร, biology = การศึกษาชีวิต
   
   
3. เน้นทำโจทย์แนว Synonym/Context Clues:
   เพราะออกสอบ A Level Reading บ่อย → การฝึกเดาคำจากบริบท (Context Clue) จะช่วยเพิ่มความเร็ว
4. ทำ Mock Test จับเวลา:
   เพื่อให้ชินกับการอ่าน passage ยาว และบริหารเวลาไม่ให้หมดก่อน
